The majority of religious answers on this site have reaffirmed my beliefs that religion is a load of crap. Most of the religious people who answer on this site are judgemental and uneducated and think that they can put shame on others who don't believe some made up stories. Anyone else feel this way?

Yes, I can see where people would think that..but you know, a LOT of atheists also come across as judge mental and are uneducated as well. I don't know what happened to live and let live and not hate others just for believing different ideas.
It all goes back to the saying that for the believers, no proof is needed, and for the non believers, no proof is enough.
I personally don't believe that to get others believing the way you feel is done by making them seem stupid and ignorant. Nor is putting them down going to work either. Let's face it-NO BODY know it ALL....so, if I am asked my opinion, then I give it with the thought that it will be respected, even if it goes against the norm and it turn, I will do the same.

I am a believer, but I don't think that all are judgmental or uneducated. I believe that some of us can be self righteous at times. What must be remembered by all is that we are all human. We have free wills to make up our own minds. I do believe that in the end all will know who God is and will worship Christ. Faith is based on that belief. What you believe is between you and God, when that day comes when all are judged that will be between that individual and God.I am the first to admit that I am fallible and that I don't have a heaven or a hell to put anyone in. I can't judge others unless I am willing to be judged on the same basis. My task as a Christian is to love God first and I will be able to show all others that same love that God shows me. I am sorry that we (Christians) can be hypocritical, but we as humans are hypocritical. Christians shouldn't be placed on any standard than any other person, for we will all be judged by the same measure. Don't think that what I believe makes me more wrong-nor you more right. I believe that Christians are put on pedestals by both believers and non believers, that's where the problem lies. In the end, the truth shall come to pass.

Not all christians are like that. I don't hate you just because you don't believe in God. I understand what doubt feels like, I've had doubt before about the reality of God. But thinking about how it all makes so much sense to me, how everything fits, how christianity gives an answer to everything, what I have seen with my own eyes (contact me if you want the story), and how beautiful this universe is brings me back. How can something so beautiful and complex be made from some dust and a big bang without some help?
I agree with *David*.

I'm neither uneducated or judgmental. I'm not trying to convince you of anything either. You are free to believe and feel what you like makes no difference to me. I suggest however you stop visiting the religious section of the site then. What's the point in asking questions here if your so sure there is nothing and are so offended by peoples responses???

I am in a mood to play devils advocate so food for thought:

have you thought that just maybe religious answerers think the questions are coming from judgemental and uneduacated non-believers who think they can put shame on those who do believe what they find to be truth?

Megan...read what you wrote...are you not being judgemental and trying to put shame on others or make them feel uneducated and stupid. Yeah, you are.

I cannot tell other people what to write and yes, on both sides of the religious issue I have seen awful things said.

I completely feel the same way. Before I started frequenting Yahoo! Answers Religion and Spirituality Section I knew that I did not believe in Christianity but I did not know what I did believe in, and I didn't feel THAT strongly about it. Now that I have been using this site and visiting this section frequently, it has done nothing but confirm and further my beliefs that the Bible is fiction, the Christian God does not exist, and Christians are hypocritical. I'm glad that I have learned so much and gotten in touch with my convictions but I am disgusted by some of the behavior I see here.

I think most are very good people just misguided. I have been called many names and most of the answers I get to very legitimate questions make reason stare. It's not that they're not intelligent, but they refuse to consider any point of view other than their own - no one can make any intellectual progress when facts and reality are shunned.

On the flip side, there as just as many ignorant and uniformed non-believers here who are just as closed-minded.

Even from a Christian perspective, I'd have to agree that 95% of the people on this site give lousy answers.
You ask a deep question about a complex issue, and you get two answers:
1) You need Jesus
2) God is imaginary

Very few people on here actually give helpful answers.

Keep in mind, that uneducated people are drawn to forums like this, from all sides of the debate.

Religion in whole can be taken any way you like. It is all about faith and hope.
People like to have faith in something to make the toil in this life more fulfilling. They like to hope that there is something beyond death so that the prospect of dieing is not as scary. All religions sort of focus on Faith and Hope no matter what their doctrine may also support.
