I recently renewed my green card and I paid a biometrics fee, if I want to apply for my citizenship do I have to pay That fee again?
And can I do it myself without a lawyer?
I been in the US for 12 years ,paid taxes and I speak english.

hello,

you can apply for your N-400 naturalization. You will have to pay biometrics as part of this process but it will be final. Once you are naturalized you do not have to renew anything or pay any more fees. You do not need a lawyer for this process unless you have any criminal convictions which may pose a problem with the application. Just fill out form N-400 on the uscis web site and send it in, that all there is too it. Process takes about a year

Yes an additional fee applies. You can do it yourself, but if my attorney is doing the paperwork for $800 plus filing fees.
