this question is only for those who have taken it or know someone who has taken it or is on it...does this pill make you loose weight? can you drink while you are taking it? and when you begin to take it are you sick at first?

I took effexor and it worked better for me than any other med I'd ever been on. But, I gained 30 pounds while I was taking it!! My stepmother also took it and gained a lot of weight. The doctors will tell you it doesn't cause weight gain, but what do they know, they don't take it.
But, everyone is different, it may not affect you that way. When I was taking it I did some research & found some message boards & some people said they gained weight & some people said they didn't. I don't know about it making you lose weight, I've never heard that. The only antidepressant I've ever read anything about helping you lose weight is prozac.
