God created Adam and Eve. They didn't have human parents. In a way God was their father.

Tell her the truth!
Some people believe Adam and Eve were created by God and had no parents of their own. Others believe in the Evolution of the species - we are all descended from the earliest lifeforms and there was no Adam or Eve.
As with all such questions she must be allowed to make her own mind up and not have the views of others forced upon her.

How did she hear of Adam & Eve? If it was you telling the story, it should probably have starting with something like, God created the Earth, and then he created Adam, but it wasn't good for Adam to be alone, so he created Eve. Because God created them he would be their parent.

Adam was made by God out of the slime of the earth. Eve was made by God out of one of Adam's ribs.
At 8, she's probably old enough to understand that it's an allegory and that the word "Adam" means mankind and that the Garden of Eden refers to the hundreds of thousands of years when mankind were hunter gatherers.

God! But it sounds like to me that if you pulled out a childrens bible and read together then you both could learn together and you both would enjoy the stories and the time together! If you can't afford to buy one you can always get one from the library or you can call this number 1-888-537-1212 and they would be glad to mail you a copy of the Holy Bible! just tell them a friend gave you the number or you got it off the net they are very friendly good luck!!

Go to the library. They have excellent books that explain to children about adam and eve and it's not confusing. That's what I have done in the past for my boys.

God!!!
God is every ones true parent. He is the creater of all.
Adam and Eve were the first man and woman. This isn't the chicken or the egg question. How hard could it really be.

Are you Christian? Then I guess your answer is 'God', if you want to go that way. Or, if you want to be honest with her, you can tell her it's an allegory or a parable.
Are you non-Christian? Then your answer is either Man, their parents, or the other religions that the story stems from.
