No. Catching a cold or flu has nothing to do with the weather. It's a virus that you catch from someone, who is already infected.
But, it is true, that if you already have a cold or flu virus ... and go out in cold weather, it can worsen your illness.

No. Cold and flu are caused by viruses not the cold. Your mother's old saying "put a coat on your going to catch a cold" is just not the case. The two are not related. Viruses are spread by fluid droplets from coughing or sneezing ect.. that go through the air and you breath in and or get from computer key boards door handles ect and touch your mouth nose or eyes. In micro biology I learned that most viruses are actually spread through touching your EYES more than the mouth or nose!

Colds, flu, infections come from GERMS and bacteria. Not from weather. Now, in the colder weather people do tend to stay inside more and that passes the germs, bacteria from person to person much easier. But cold weather does NOT make you sick.
Wash your hands properly and NEVER touch your face with your hands.

Nope, years ago, it was thought that you caught a cold/flu from going out in the cold (hence the name "cold") but, now they know that you catch cold's and viruses thru the nose. So, it's spread from not washing hands... thru human contact. You catch the flu and colds from people... not from going out in cold weather.
