Your cat may feel left out or lonley. You should spend lots of time with your cat and give it lots of love.

Yeah, how freaky is it when they do that! They have the deepest stare...quite unnerving. But I actually think it is a compliment of sorts; if they are watching you intently they are most likely observing your body language. Trust may be an issue so don't make it feel wierd about staring at you...go straight up and stroke it and put it at ease.

Just cause, maybe it is wanting your attention. If it is only you and your cat then your cat might need something to keep it busy, try some new toys or just play more.

Cat stare is cat's way of caring about you. Also cat wants to be in constant communication with you with her facial expression. Cat wants to know your mood always because it cares about you.

Whenever you see cat slowly blinking at you, it's cat's way of kiss.

Stare downs are a cats way of cursing. They want you to know that they are the head cheese. You can do two things to make your cat stop freaking you out. 1. Stare him/her down. Don't blink and move in slowly on them. This lets them know, you are the boss. 2. Slowly close and open your eyes three times while looking at your cat. In 'cat' that means "I love you". If your cat feels the same about you, he/she will slightly close his/her eyes as if to blink back.

Full eye stare down - trying to be dominate
Half eye stare down - trying to be cute and let you know they're happy.
Full eye w/ full pupils - excited, ready for anything, wants to play

Hi there...you've answered your own question--he/she is studying you. Cats are fascinated with everything in their world and their humans. They watch us out of curiosity as this is their nature.
