In other words when it was written thousands of years ago little was known about the science of the earth or the universe so the author did the best he could based on his knowledge at the time and made up stories to explain the things that he saw.

The main focus will be PC. God forbid someone should write what they believe is the truth if it by any chance may be offending to those who don't believe in the Bible!

there is very little science in the bible to change. it is mostly history and relationships between people. That stays the same. Most would be unchanged except maybe better fonts.
the authors were many and over many centuries so one cannot say that the author was basing it on his knowledge at the time.
stories may have been made up but they are still good stories. no reason to change them.

There is scientific foreknowledge in the Bible. While Europe was wallowing in muck during the Middle Ages, the Jews had the Bible, particularly the Torah which says that one should keep in good sanitation. The Jews did this, which is why they didn't die as much from the plague. The Bible says that the Earth is round, it talks about dinosaurs, mountains under the ocean (not discovered until recently), blood being the life of the flesh (not realized until 19th century), how to deal with leprosy, star formation, fermentation, etc.
So yes, I would believe it.

Any "bible" as a collection of books written today would be immensely unpopular. People have grown tired of books designed and/or assembled in the name of spreading a social movement, regardless of content.

It could be argued that the Internet and the communities and forums held therin provide the closest thing to a Bible we have in the modern world.

Ha, ha, indeed advertisements galore. Good one, eduarodi.

It's human nature for people to speak with an agenda. So, the Bible of today would resemble the Bible written centuries ago. It would be filled with people who want to change the behaviors of others. In short, it's the same crap you see from Rev. Haggard and Falwell.

One big difference is the internet. Well, communication in general--television, radio, rapid delivery, etc. People can actually do research today. Scholars can disprove someone else's proposal.

No one back then knew that the Biblical flood is impossible. So it makes for a good story. If anyone tries to document a flood like that today, it'd be laughed out of the Bible.

In short, it'd be a book complete with contradictions and hidden agendas. Not much different from the original but with different language.

each book of the bible was written by a different person. I think a couple people wrote two sections but not more. That way you get a little bit of everyone's point of view, it would probably still be like that today.

The Bible comprises the history of the nation of Israel, and God's covenant with humanity. It contains history, poetry, eyewitness accounts of events and correspondence with the young Churches of the 1st century. I don't think the Bible fits your description, as it's not a book of science, nor was it written by one person.

ALL the same lessons taught in the Bible thousands of years ago still apply today so there is no need for God to revise it.
Look at what happens when mankind start their own religious believes and their own set of rules, the world starts to fall apart!!

Intersting question - I don't really think that the bible is about science but more about how we should live our lives and why we are here. i.e. I think that the teachings of Jesus are more important than any of the miracles that it reports. (I am not a Christian myself)

To that end, I expect that a lot of the messages of Christ would be the same but analogies would be more easily understood by us.

since we have better communication skills now if the bible had been written today there would be no miss translations and the people most likely wouldn't be making 100 different things out of one verse

not true. The bible was written by different people and they wrote what God had them to write. New Testament writers wrote about Jesus's life: Matt, Mark, Luke, John...they were there so they wrote what they saw and what was said. They account is very similar...they each wrote about a certain aspects of Christ.
