Has anybody ever heard of the shock absorber mounts of new Ford trucks crumpling when you jack them up from them? Why did they make them so crappy that this would happen

if you are talking about the two ends that hang below the rear axle then yes thy will collapse,it they made each and every part on your truck capable of lifting it by then it would weigh to much to drive, parts are designed to do there job and that is why the manual will show you the proper way to lift the vehicle from underneath.
