I am using photoshop 8.0, and I am trying to make a 5x7 picture with wording. The wording is in Edwardian Script, size 30. Everytime I print the picture, the wording comes out warped like....the curves of the words are not smooth...they are ridged and rough...anyone know how to fix this, or what I am doing wrong? I've alno noticed that this is happening with other fonts too. Any help is appreciated

It sound's like you've got an anti-aliasing issue going on.
Or your picture is very low res. This would cause jaggies to form on your type.

This is an easy fix ... go to your file menu and select "WINDOW" and make sure the "Characters" field is check marked. You will have a mini-window with the tab called Character which will have the font and the type size, etc. In the lower right hand corner of that window, there is a drop menu. There you will be able to select "None", "Smooth", "Crisp", etc. Play with those and see how the fonts turn out. Good luck!

Type the text in coreldraw.. save it.. export the same as an image file with transparent background.. if you know photoshop you can easily use the 2nd image as a layer on top of the main image.. photoshop is good for graphics.. but fails with text per se

coreldraw was just an example, you can use quite some other programmes for the text part

Probably depends on the resolution of the picture you want to add the script to. The higher, the cleaner the font will be.
Also, make sure you are using true type fonts (vector types).

Open your character box ( window > Character ) and make sure you are setting that font to anything other than None, while that text layer is activated (Crisp or Smooth are best)
