My sister is a doctor and yesterday she got a big breakdown but really HUGE ONE. I asked her once and again what was going up and she kept telling me: I don't want that hospital! I don't want that hospital.
I tried to find out more but she simply closed and did not want to talk then she fell asleep some hours but after she was crying again saying she was tired. I know she got lot of responsabilities and I know she feels only another doctor understands her but anyway I want to cheer her up or make her feel better. Does anyone know how to do it? Does anyone have a doctor at home?

Sometimes actions speak louder than words. Show her that you are willing to listen and support her by just being there and not proding her. She'll talk when she's ready. The medical industry is always very demanding and stressful and doctors have a tendency to think that noone understands, but deep down inside all they want is what all of us do (some TLC and peace and quiet). Let your sister know that you love her and that you care and that you're there if she needs to vent. She is after all your sister not the doctor.

HGS is right. She needs love and understanding right now. Forget about trying to reach her as a Doctor. Just reach out to hear as a sister. When she is ready she will talk. All of my doctor friends, who are probably much older than your sister, are under a great deal of stress. Out of the office I treat them as my other friends. They need friendship just like anyone else. Best of luck to your sister and you.
