Hee hee sorry I guess I'm not too tech-saavy...
anyways, the reason I want to convert my files is because my stupid cell phone has some protection thing that I can't use mp3 files for ringtones or alarm clock sounds UNLESS they're downloaded through my cell phone provider's website, but it does accept common type rington types like midi, so I wondered if I could somehow convert short mp3s into these types of files to be able to use them on my cell...

Lets see...
An mp3 is an audio only file
An AVI is a video file
A Midi is instructions for playing the midi instrument in your computer - instruments only, no voices or lyrics
Why you you want to do that? Make a video file with only sound? Take all the words and voices out of the song?

There are probably programs to do those things - but what would be the point??
