It would be insulting to you to say that my religion is "right", but it IS right for me.

Since we are a world of 6 billion, we could hardly agree on anything as a group. We haven't yet....

My religion,Christianity (Evangelical Lutheran) serves me best in it's promotion of love and peace in our hearts and in the world. That part is a great element for me, I hope for others. The other elements of satisfaction are giving to those less fortunate, helping the sick and needy, sharing random acts of kindness and sharing the glory of the Gospel (The word of God) are all loving and gentle ways of living in our world.

Since there is no judgement allowed in Christianity, no killing, stealing, adultery or disobediance to parents or authority figures, the discipline is simple, "Love others as you love yourself".

While all of these guidelines of behavior have been violated by all Christians at one time or another, it is comforting to know that God still loves us and forgives us for these sins by our repentance and confession to Him.

What could be more comforting than that?

In most major religions, man is working toward godhood or God. Examples being, in Islam, praying 5 times a day, fasting during Ramadan, etc., will gain you entrance into heaven - the good stuff you do is weighed against the bad stuff, and whichever is heavier wins. In Buddhism, you live the best life you can so you can become better and better until you reach the goal of perfection. In Hinduism, you are reborn until you are a good enough person to attain Nirvana. (I know, there are very simplistic examples, but I only have a few sentences).

In Christianity, it has nothing to do with how good a person you are. It is God reaching down to mankind and giving salvation through His own free gift - Jesus bearing all our sins unto death on the cross and through His resurrection, victory over death. Once you become a Christian, (having accepted His free gift of salvation) good works just become part of your life - you want to do them, not for personal gain, just because you want to be obedient to a loving God.

Of course I believe that my religion is right or I would be searching for the truth. My religion recognizes truth in all other religions and teaches tolerance. We believe that we have the God given right to worship as we see fit and so does everyone else. We believe that we are ALL brothers and sisters and as such have a responsibility to care for each other. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Of course everyone with a religion thinks theirs is right -- would they go through the rituals, deprivations, obligations, meetings, etc. if they didn't? Of course not.

Ah, but here's the problem: they all think theirs is right, but they're all different -- some from each other in small ways, some completely different. But they can't ALL be "right," since they're so different, can they?

Given the complete lack of evidence of any kind that there is a god, a heaven, a hell, or any other kind of supernatural being or power, I take the logical road: they're all wrong. But that's just me -- if a religion brings you comfort, makes you happy, etc. then that's fine by me. Just don't try to foist it on others for whom something else may be right, and we'll all get along just fine.

I am not in a religion, but I am under grace. The Lord Jesus Christ died for my sin, He was buried and took my sins away and He rose again the third day for my justification. He done it all for me and all I had to do was believe and trust in that. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Everyone believes their religion is right, when in fact it is right for them and that is the most important way to judge your faith.

Blessed Be )O(

because I would not be here writing you this note if it weren't for my faith and the religion I follow. I am Catholic and I went thru a LOT in my life, believe me, A LOT, more than you think someone can handle. And thanks to my faith I am still here and I am sure better times are about to come. Good luck.
