Flea & tick spray will kill the fleas and ticks on your cat but will do nothing to get rid of them in your apartment. Unfortunately, fleas can live dormant for up to 10 years under carpets, in tiny cracks, etc. The only way to completely get rid of them is to get some kind of good "flea bombs" and follow the instructions on them. Usually the instructions require that all pets and people being out of the house while the "bombs" are spraying the insecticide and for a few hours after. Once you can get back in, everything will need to be vacuumed well, kitchen counters wiped off, etc. Once you have the fleas out of the apartment, get your cat on some kind of a scheduled routine flea preventative. These can be in the form of a monthly pour on or chewable.

First get some frontline or something on your cat, I have used Bengal flea spray and it worked for me. Pick up everything and spray the entire place. Wait for a few hours and vacuum the whole place and in a day or two repeat, I even used the spray on my recliners and couch, also be sure to get any bedding or carpeted toys and spray them as well. Good luck.

I had this problem a couple of years ago. I went to Walmart and got a flea bomb. I originally tried to use the multi-bug bomb but that wasn't quite effective so I switched to the flea only bomb. Make sure you treat your pet (I prefer Frontline) prior to any spraying and give it a good 2 -3 days to work into the cat's system then cover your dishes and pots and pans and bombs away!! You may have to do it more than once to make sure you got all the buggies and their eggs. I havn't had any problems since I bombed and I have more animals in and out of my house than I prefer to mention.

well try putting advantage on your cat, it works the best. and for the carpet and stuff, put some salt on the floor and let it set in, then vacuum it out, but make sure to throw away that vacuum bag, or you will just let them out again. dont walk barefoot though, salt will dry out your feet and your cats. and try putting a shallow dish with soap under a night light, it works. you will see fleas the next morning

Frontline does kill them on the pets, I guess it may work in the house too.
