it was my dad's choice for the dog. i said i didn't want to bring him. and a yorky is a type of breed where the fur doesn't fall off which is why my allergies aren't that bad around him.

get a water gun and kind of spray her with water in the face every time she howls. it works. most dogs dont like being sprayed. that way they'll think "every time i howl. i'll get sprayed."

He might need a companion, like a stuffed puppy or something he can cuddle with, but will stand up to his abuse. How about giving him a few squeek toys to play with, so that he can entertain himself until you get up. Maybe put a radio on for him, so he's got something to listen to. Or maybe another puppy to keep him company. Only thing is, they both might start howling! Maybe that's the time when his bladder wants relief, so he howls to let you know he's gotta go. Try some of the above ideas. If they don't work, you might have to put a muzzle on him for a few weeks, until he gets the idea that making that noise is not a good idea. When he sees the muzzle coming at him, he might start to understand that the muzzle means stop. It's not a cruel thing, but a tool to give him a visual idea that howling is bad. While he'll be upset for a while, he'll learn the connection between his howling and wearing the muzzle. Hopefully, the other ideas will work better for him. The muzzle is the last resort . <*)))><

Dogs, like any other mammal, have circadian rhythm that lets them know when its morning; so at 6am your puppy thinks its time to get up. This could be because it has to go to the bathroom - puppies can't be expected to hold their bladders and bowls for a long night of sleep because they aren't fully developed. If they do try and hold it, they can get serious UTIs. You should be getting up in the night to let your dog go to the bathroom, and if you do, this could buy you a couple extra hours of sleep in the morning.

Another reason for his howling could be because he knows he gets something from it. When he howls, he gets to go downstairs with you. This is not a good idea on your part - you are rewarding his howling! If you are certain it is not because he has to go to the bathroom, then the best thing you can do is just to let him howl. Eventually he will learn that his howling no longer gets him anything, and he will stop. Good luck!

This is a PUPPY you're talking about! A puppy is a baby. There are any number of things that can be causing his distress. I'm so sorry you're 18 and you need your rest, but that's not the puppy's fault. If you're going to have a dog, you need to do what is necessary to make him comfortable. When he's a little older, things will settle down. Again...he's a baby.

I also have a big moth dog... try taken the little guy potty before you go to bed, also maybe avoid any loud noises dogs have sensitive ears and loudness tends to bother them. also check the little guy to see if hes limping or acts funny maybe he can be soar from playing to hard. but if its a everyday routine then its most likely a cry for attention ... and if thatbe the case good luck cause i have a 100 pound pitbull a big baby that has to sleep with me and if me and my family are talking and not paying him any attention he howls also kinda like hes joining the conversation

why would you have a dog if you have allergies? well the dog is probably bored or lonely. little dogs like yorkies dont like to be left alone that much and they need attention. or they can just yap and yap and yap. try giving it more excercise and attention, so it can sleep when you sleep. or it may just need to be taken out

i think your dog needs to be let out .... thats what my dog does.... or maybe your dog just wants to play .....but you have to expect some of this your dog's a PUPPY!!!!!!!!!! ...thats what my dog used to do so we put her in the garage ( in a kennal with carpet so it keeps her warm) and she's been fine except when she has to go out she whines which is good..... maybe she can hear you inside and just wants to play ..... also how late do u put her to bed??? because when i got to bed i usually at 830ish or 9 i have to take her out at ten but then if you put her in the kennal she's fine rest of the night (usually unless she has to go) but I get up at 620ish anyway so shses fine

Maybe he needs to be let out for a wee and poo. That is usually why a dog crys early in the morning.

try putting a warm bottle in there so he can cuddle with it, he might just get lonely and want attention, or maybe that is the time he needs to go to the bathroom, so try that to!

it's probably hearing something...maybe a neighbor is blowing a dog whistle or something.

or maybe it has to pee or is hungry

I'd try to figure out where a sound good be coming from, though
