I find that separating the goo from the seeds goes better if you do this in warm and salty water.

Some people add a bit of olive or vegetable oil. I spread them on a cookie sheet, add salt, set the oven to 300, stir every five minutes or so until they brown.

There are others who would add spices of varying flavors, I am sure you will get suggestions, and I think I will try some of them, also.

Wash them in cold water; drain the water and mix the seeds in a little Vegetable Oil with a pinch of salt.

You can also use garlic, or cayenne pepper for different flavors. :)

My wife made some great pumpkin seeds on Halloween by using just salt.

The strings doesn't really harm the seeds so don't worry about getting it 100%. The commercially sold ones do that for appearance and adds little to the taste or nutritional value.

Just rinse, drain, and spread it out to dry for awhile before you roast it. It doesn't need much more that just plain salt for seasoning.

When you're taking them out of the pumpkin just try to get as much as the stuff off as you can with just your hands. Then just strain them in warm water and the rest will slide right off. . . .Dry them, and then toss with some oil and coarse salt. If you want seasoned/flavored you could try garlic salt instead of regular, or add paprika or cayenne. Any flavor you like would work really, but personally I think plain out salt works best. And then just toss them in the oven for about 20 minutes.
