Are candy canes from last Christmas still safe to eat?

Yeah, as long as they're not from 2004 or before and stored in a cardboard box.

I have never actually heard of candy canes going bad...I am sure we have all had a candy cane, sucker, or hard piece of candy that's a bit old because it develops that thin chewy coating on the outside (which I happen to really like!). No one has gotten sick from such, so as long as you don't mind a slightly chewy outside, I'd say they're fine to eat! Enjoy!

Candy canes seem to last indefinitely. You can tell when they're getting stale when they are sort-of mushy and feel almost wet, however...you can still eat them even in that state!
