An entity as abstract as "God" will have many aspects, all perceived differently by different people. Each aspect is like a facet of a jewel, when it catches the light it glints and sparkles in its own unique way, it would almost be possible to believe that the facet WAS the jewel, and not just a tiny part of it. But, as you move along the jewel another facet catches the light, and another aspect surfaces. Anyway, my point is "God" can be one, and it can be many.

That's why I find it hard to believe that there is any god, gods, goddesses, or anything in between. Everyone is relying on their "faith" and not concrete fact.
For all we know, god could be an alien looking down on Earth from some far off universe. Or, god could be a unicorn. Or, the gods could be a bowling team that gets together and thinks of ideas for the planet over a pitcher of beer. OR, there could be NO gods at all, which is what I believe.
Everything ever uttered from the bible, a bible-scholar, etc. can be taken in more than one way. Each person interprets each thing differently. So yes, it could be misunderstood, along with everything else anyone has ever said.

Anything we can't explain becomes a "god." When the Conquistadors came to Central America the indigenous peoples hailed them as gods because they were in awe of their superior technology. If aliens visited earth I'm sure a similar reaction would follow.
God as described by the judeo-christian or Muslim faiths cannot exist as he is described. The entire idea of an Omniscient being who is simultaneously Omnipotent is contradictory. God is simply a name we give to what we can't explain. I wouldn't classify that as a being.

Well, perhaps they might be thought of as "a class of beings" ... but not just some sort of extra-terrestrials.
This "class of beings" is only three in number, eternal in existence, omnipotent in power, omniscient in knowledge, etc.and whereas humans have similarities to each other, also they have very real differences. On the other hand, GOD has one and only one essence. So much so that the Son is God, the Spirit is God, the Father is God. Jesus said that He and the Father are "one" ... one in essence.
Like, you have ice, water, and vapor, Those three all have one essence, H2O.

If you are referring to Yahweh the Judeo-Christian God then I think he is a God among many Goddess and Gods. I think all God and Goddesses are an energy which is empowered by human belief.

Not if you believe the Bible:
Deut. 6:4
"Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!
Mark 12:29-31 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; 30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' 31 "The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

How do you misunderstand the Word of God. There is only one God. The Father of Christ.

Are there aliens, probably.
Are there intelligent aliens, possibly.
Have aliens ever come to this particular corner of this galaxy, almost certainly not.
