In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

There is no part of you that is evil only that which has been placed on you by society and the past beliefs of a fear based plane of existence. You are here to heal the internal wounds of your being. By living with impeccability and being the best that you can be according to your heart you will be following the Truth. Don't Think; feel the Truth. When you pray / meditate allow time for That answer to be brought forward. The truth is unconditional love. Self First ,so that you can love and forgive yourself then others. "to thine own self be true" There is no-thing with in you that is not God.

First a bit of information about a major difference between the devil and God.
God is omnipresent, meaning he is everywhere all the time.
The devil does not have this ability. See the book of Job. The devil was leaving everyone else alone during this time, because he could only be one place at one time, and at this time he was working on trying to break Job and make his curse his creator (GOD)
What most of us deal with on a day to day basis is the temptation to give into our own sin nature and thus disobey God and his word. We fight within ourselves to submit to God and cast off our own sin nature.
God does test his own. He never tests those who do not belong to him. Tests are not for God, he already knows our hearts. the tests are for us, to show us our strengths and weaknessess so that we may see just where we are at in our walk with God.
In the story of Abraham and Issaac, God already knew that Abraham would obey him and sacrifise Isaac. He just wanted to show Abram how far he had come in his faith and trust in God.
The test was for Abraham, God already knew, he wanted Abraham to have this same understanding of just how strong his faith and trust had become.

They are separate entity's. If you notice, when things are going great, you are following your walk with the Lord, the enemy will throw something right in front of you to mess you up. Anytime you are close to God, the devil will work extra hard to drive a wedge between you and the Lord. Be strong in Lord, and don't let the enemy drive that wedge. God Bless!*

Its called LIFE. Its full of choices. Good and bad are in the eye of the beholder. What would the point of God/Devil testing every one of the billions of people in the world be? To think that invisible outside entitys are testing you is parinoia, pure and simple.
