Just make sure you cat has a place to hide. They will soon figure out what kind of a relationship they want.

The dog is already used to having a cat around so that should work out as far as the dog goes - dogs don't mess with cats. Your kitty will hide for anywhere from just a few days to maybe two weeks but it will eventually work out. Once your kitty comes out from hiding the two (cats) will eventually get along and probably become partners in crime. For my two cats (1 is 18 the other 2) they play together especially in the morning and then late at night. Everything will be OK. You will have a happy little family of critters.
One final thought on this - since you haven't stated whether the cats are male and female, you probably should make sure that they are both "fixed".
and yes I agree with the gal above me about the seperate food and water and also litter box

Cara M's answer (above mine) is best. Also, one thing I've learned from experience (and later heard from a professional)- Do NOT hold either of the cats and try to introduce them that way. Cats need to feel in control of the situation and will NOT appreciate being held and introduced while being held. I got a bit scratched up doing this once. Woops!
Also, if one of the cats is declawed, the other one should be too. Make sure both cats are also fixed. Good luck:o)

My mom always said that if you show your cat that the animals are nice and that their your friends, i know sounds corny, the animals will naturally adapt but if u make a big deal out of it then they'll more then likely hate eachother. I would say introduce your cat to their cat first let that reltionship work, now cats and dogs are tricky but it can work What kind of dog is it? ne ways introduce your cat to the dog slowly more than likely its going to scare ur cat half to death sit with all the animals together and they will naturally become friends

Keep your "new" cat in a separate room with her own water, food and litter box for a while, probably a week. She needs time to adapt to a new surrounding (which is scary for her) and to adapt to new animals and people, too. She needs to get used to their smells, as they do to hers. Later, she can be brought out to "socialize" with the animals, under your supervision. Give them some breaks, and put her back in her room at intervals until you know they are getting along. They will have to get to know each other, and establish who will be dominant, etc. Be sure she feels safe and secure, and that she can eat alone in peace and quiet for a little while until she gets used to the crowd.

Well I would start by making sure your cat has a few of it's own toys and things nearby when you do move so it will feel more at ease but other then that they will have to work it out for themselves, pay extra attention to your cat and let it know you still love it.

Exchange a toy or something that has these animals scent with the other household first. Supervise their meeting and try to keep yourself calm and naturally accepting, animals can sense when we're nervous and tense. Sooth the animals in a calming voice repeating it's ok or phrases of appraisal that you already use.

If there are any glass doors in the house let them become acquainted through the door where they can see each other for while first. Thats how I got my old dog use to my adopted cat.

This honestly is an unusual ingredient, yet there are procedures to get the cat to eat problematical nutrients. both blend it with a canned nutrients or upload water. do not upload milk to the nutrients. A cat's digestive device, at ANY age, does not consider cow's milk.

introduce them slowly.... keep your cat in your room so she can get used to the smell of the other animals, and they can get used to her smell... and give her a place to come to away from the other animals until she gets used to them.
