So now Israel threatens "possible military strike against Iran"
Israel official: Strike on Iran possible
By AMY TEIBEL, Associated Press Writer
November 10, 2006
(JERUSALEM - The deputy defense minister suggested Friday that Israel might be forced to launch a military strike against Iran's disputed nuclear program ,the clearest statement yet of such a possibility from a high-ranking official. )
and if they do? I'm just wondering; I mean will the rest of the Middle East just sit idly by? I know Iran is Persian. Still one can't help but to wonder - especially considering the situation in Iraq - if the others will allow continuing destruction., By the way I hear that Iran's president did NOT say that "Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth." Even some of the "middle of the road" foreign press are saying the same thing.
So what is the real story? Is there any proof that he really said that? Our translators can tell us anything& we'd never know the difference.

"Iran's new president created a sense of outrage in the west yesterday by describing Israel as a "disgraceful blot" that should be "wiped off the face of the earth". Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is more hardline than his predecessor, told students in Tehran that a new wave of Palestinian attacks would be enough to finish off Israel."
"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday lambasted Israel and Zionism and quoted the late Ayatollah Khomeini calling for Israel to be "wiped out from the map.""
"A day after drawing international condemnation for declaring that "Israel should be wiped off the map," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad joined an estimated several hundred thousand demonstrators in an annual anti-Israel march that made clear his words are a time-honored slogan in Iran."

The Middle East - what a short-fused powder keg that whole region is.
I sometimes look through old news papers I find when working on renovation projects - and when it comes to the Middle East, change the key player's names and it seems that the stories I read from the 50's and 60's could be in last week's paper - or today's - nothing but constantly increasing tensions and hatred.
Make no mistake about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - he has made his policies and positions very clear. He keeps no secrets about his positions on anything contrary to Islamic fundamentalism.
He preaches an alternative to his people to the current "corrupt Western way of life." He often refers to Israel as "the little devil that must be annihilated" - and, to make matters even worse, he is an avid supporter of Humas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and an opponent of all who would seek peace or even better relations with the West.
Tensions on his norther border will only escalate as terror organizations such as his 'revolutionary guards' become stronger.
His rise to power "also means that the real power in Iran will lie more in the hands of its Shiite clergy and their supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khomeini."
Most Middle East experts feel he will undoubtedly continue his pursuit of nuclear weapons - and this, obviously, is and should be of great concern to Israel - as well as the rest of the world.
My thought for the day:
"Islam - a tolerent and peaceful religion."

War against Iran is inevitable unless there is a successful revolt from with in. The world press isn't likely to say anything that would make Islamofascists look bad. As to what other countries will do, it's impossible to know. It looks bad.

In a nuclear substitute the two factors could lose. so some distance, Israel has the technological area plus the backing of u . s .. Iran is familiar with that if she attacked Israel, it could be all out conflict with u . s .. The question right this is will Ahmadinejad threat a conflict of mutual destruction?

And he also has screamed, in public speeches, "Death to Israel!" and "Death to America!"
Add in their pursuit of nuclear weaponry, and you have a very serious and credible threat.
If you think Jews are going to do a repeat of the 1930's and sit back and hope the anti-Semitic rhetoric was just words, you better think again. They won't repeat that mistake, and would prefer to die fighting.
They will honor the threat - and take necessary actions to elinate it.
It's what any sane country would do.

Both North Korea and Iran are threats...
Do you trust any nation that openly displays arrogant strutting goose stepping troops? Does 1939 mean ANYTHING to todays governments? Toss in the nuclear (new-clee-er) threat and I wouls say it's about time to move.
World War III here we come... either that or learn to speak Arabic with a Korean accent...
