i own a repair shop, and all you need is the bulb part of it,it just turns out from the back of it,and put the new one in it,be care full and don't touch the actual bulb part of it,your not supposed to touch them with your fingers hold it with a cloth rag or something but the old one just pulls out and the new on goes right in,and that's all there is to it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

I needed this on my NB and it was a major PITA. Local mechanic got it, eventually: it's mounted all in one piece and comes out only after a lot of messing around with the plastic buttons and doohickeys. And putting it back in was actually more time consuming!

If I had to do it again, I'd take it to the dealer and pay 'em the $45 per hour... or $60, or whatever...

But if you must do it yourself, check this out:

Take is back to the dealer. I tried to have Jiffy Lube change mine one time, and it's a whole complicated process. You have to pop some panel off, and you have to go through some compartment under the hood by the engine. Have fun with that - those lamps are expensive!

Remove cover of headlight, remove wiring connection. Remove the clip who hold headlight bulb in position and replaced with new one. Be careful to fit bulb in correct position. Then fit all back on. Done.

EASY. open the bonnet and you will see the fitting for the light inside. there is a clip holding the covers shut. pull open the clip and pull out the globes in their sockets. then just change them. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE GLOBE ON THE GLASS. good luck

Go to your local parts house and buy the bulb and see if they will put it in for you. It would take 5 minutes to do and most do it for free.

I would leave it to the ones who can do it - Go to your nearest VW dealer!
