The US already messed up their countries, so the US owes them. That's why they go there.

You should learn more compassion and understanding. It was just luck you happened to be born in America. You could have just as easily been put in Afghanistan, Iraq, Rwanda or any other terrifying and war-torn country.

You are not superior to these people. Plus these people don't only go to America, many go to Canada and Western European countries for freedom and a good economy. In case you didn't notice, America isn't the greatest country to live in. There is lots of violence, pollution and prejudice.

Don't harp on other people until you're perfect, which will probably never happen with the mind set that you have.

There is a lot to this issue and it would depend greatly on the counrty that the immigrant is migrating from. It takes generations to FIX a country that has been corrupt for even more generations. Most immigrants come to america to obtain an education and a profession that could render them helpful to their native countries. A lot legal immigrants that here on student or work visas plan to return to their countries to make a difference. The ILLIEGAL immigrants are not interested in bettering anybody's situation but their own. They do not want to fix anything. They just want to maintain at any cost.

I agree that the illegal immagrant problem is directly related to the amount of corruption and fear of death in their own country's political system. However, the U.S. had a similar situation back around 1749. I believe it led to something we called the American Revolution. Everything our own founding fathers did was considered treason and punishable by death. This still didn't keep them from secretly holding meetings, gathering arms, and finding help among the desperate people of the country. Ours isn't the only country where people rose up for a better life despite the government. African blacks were slaves in their own country due to British rule, a man named Nelson Mandela, among others, proved that one voice can change minds, raise hearts and spirits, and change a nation. Same thing for Guandi in India. It can be done, the people just have to believe that they can do it and that sometimes the ultimate sacrifices have to be made to ensure that it does. After all they are not sacrificing for a country they are sacrificing for their children.

why can't iraq fix itself?

every country has their own reasons, whether it's poverty, corruption, cultural difference (including religion), or even sheer stupidity.

south park said it a LONG time ago. remember the episode where all the people from the future were coming back and ruining everyone's lives, and the kids had to learn THEIR language, and they took all the jobs, etc? and they realized they COULD NOT FIGHT the immigration, they had to fight the SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. so, they decided to fix the future, so they would have no reason to come here.

in other words, if we have to HELP these countries fix themselves. it will benefit us in the long run.

People are fleeing their countries because there is no way to fix it. A lot of central american countries are full to the brim with corruption. If someone would, by chance, rise to power trying to stop it, they would soon be dismayed by all of the money or they would be killed by hired hands.

Do you also feel the same way about all the Europeans who came here? I am with you that people shouldn't immigrate here illegally. But this country was built by immigrates who came here looking for a better life, and we should continue to provide that for people willing to do it legally.

They are not so "hard working" when it comes to improving the economics of their own countries, now are they.

I wish they would stay home, rebel and kick their governments in the backside and demand it.

Americans should not have to be burdened with taking on other nations poverty stricken people, it is not our responsibility.

It is the US who destroyed their countries, now in order to feed their families, they go in search of work elsewhere.

Who is to blame?
