Fish and chips from the right place, first! Best places in England thus far that I've discovered are- up in Whitby- a small fish n chip shop near the harbour (NOT the overcrowded and over-priced Magpie, which is also good but i prefer cheap and short queues!) Second, 'Murgatroyd's in Leeds- this is near the airport and is really so much better than Harry Ramsden's, since the latter was turned into a chain!
Finally, NOT curry sauce because that is a different cuisine, and because it is rarely that nice anyhow. Mushy peas are the way to go!

fish and chips with a serving of mushy peas and some ketchup on the side...
curry sauce is crap, disgusting. i've tried it a few times. i don't really like curry so putting it with something that it so obviously shouldn't be with only made it taste worse

Curry sauce with fish?? eewwww, and that's from a curry addict!! I'd have peas and lashings of Brown sauce with fish & chips.
Tell you what is nice though: sausage, chips and curry sauce, MMMmmm!

peas definitely- having curry sauce with fish and chips is so wrong its like having a korma with mashed potato

had curry sauce and chips from the chippy the other day salt and loads of vinegar, walking down the road didnt look up ti li finished them, spanking gorgeous.

Definitely mayo with the fish. Chips can only be eaten with sweet-chilli sauce/sour cream combo. Hungry now!
