They HATED all the Prophets! Because they told them what they DIDN'T want
to hear! Like putting an ancient phallic symbol in your place of worship every
year. (Jeremiah 10). Ever notice all the "balls" on it?

If the tradition of the "tree' didn't begin until the Middle Ages, how did it get
described by Jeremiah 3000 years
ago?
The Word also says, if someone says
something will take place, and it does, but he doesn't speak according to the
Word, ignore him.

A true prophet is one who only:
1) makes prophesies that are consistent with Holy Scripture...and
2) makes prophetic utterances that come to pass...

That's an excellent question. Moreover, WHO set the guidelines to tell who is a true prophet or a false one? I would imagine other people, fallible humans, did that.
When "God" speaks, why doesn't it speak directly to the person or people for whom the message is intended? Sending a human messenger to do it sounds a bit suspicious. Then again, if the messenger was, say, a talking burning bush, or a 50-foot-tall woman, or a bag of Cheetos. I might believe it was "God" talking.

A "true" prophet is one who makes cryptic statements that allow the gullible to be persuaded by one of the "interpreters" of the vague statements. Another "prophet" tactic is to throw out reams of predictions to cover all bases. In this case he is like a broken clock - he's bound to be right at least twice a day.

The only way to know for sure that you are right with God is to know what He has to say and trust Him rather than men.
2 Timothy 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth , and be turned aside to fables.

If anybody said what these "Prophets" said, today, they'd be whisked away to the Mental Snatorium.
Frankly, I don't see much difference in those "Prophets" either.
I'd still say they should be locked up in padded cells; like all their fanatic followers; because they're plain insane!

The prophecies of the Prophets were validated after their death, almost every prophet of the OT was hated or disliked or persecuted for what they had to say, and usually it was because they didn't hear what they wanted to hear.
One of my favorites of Elijah. That trick with the fire and killing all the false prophets of Ba'al is great. He really put the smack down on them.

All the true prophets are recorded in the Bible. Anyone coming along since the close of the New Testament is a false prophet.

the only way is to tie a rock to them and throw them into deep water. If they float they are true prophets, if they don't float problem solved.
I love the trick God performed for Elijah when he sent the bears to kill the children that were teasing Elijah about being bald.

If they tell my of any thing that GOD has said about me or my friend, my family i will go and consult in prayers then later approach the prophet in a spiritual way , for if that is a true prophet of our living GOD.

Are you referring to a Christmas tree? They didn't exist until the Middle Ages, in Germany. The lights are said to represent Christ as the light of the world, and such.
If you don't like them, don't have one. But they're not from the devil.
