If your one year old is walking well, try doing some mimic games. You do a movement and see if your baby can do the same thing. Also try using picture flashcards to explore the world. With my son, I took him outside to a big field and kicked a ball back and forth. I began to teach him how to throw, and how to catch when he was 1.

My son also use to like to sit in the laundry basket when I folded the laundry, so as I sorted the clothes, I would name the clothes...sock...undershirt...pants...and the color before I folded them. From this, he has learned the names for different articles of clothing, and he's beginning to grasp colors better. My son is now 2.

Play with them. It really doesn't matter what you do they'll love the interaction between the two of you. Play peek-a-boo and play with some of his/her toys with her. Tickling also is a good one and zerberts (blowing on the belly). Sometimes you can do this one thing repeatedly and they'll just laugh and laugh and laugh.

finger painting (cover up well though), drawing (make sure you get waterproof pens as these will come off everything), balls, walkers, ball pit (ace fun for you too??)....heaps to do...have fun.
