My first patrol inside the Iraqi border, middle of the night, windy and sand in every conceivable place on you...it was deathly quiet thru the first 90 minutes or so, we spoke very little...thristy alot.
Desert Shield had been implemented, scores of Air Force sorties flew like spiderwebs across the early morning sky...bombs fell in the distance...which was our destination. To take spotters and other peeps to sights targeted and hit and clear out remnants...
Very scary time for me...and everyone else with the company.
This Veteran's Day I salute those who were there with me...Our Lord knows who you are...and those who fell either then, or now.
I salute our brave, very brave service members of today, as I give thanks to those who served along the years of the past.
Thank you for being there for me America, I feel it today.
It was an honor to have served among the greatest people on the planet.

I will be having a good day. My husband and I have a date tonight. Yeah, a night with out the baby! WOOT WOOT!
BUT I thank and remember all veterans every day, so I don't only celebrate once a day. Father was a marine, husband an army paratrooper, grandfather was a air force tail gunner in ww2. Thanks to all of our veterans!

We will never be able to thank our countrymen enough for serving and giving up so much for our freedom. If you really sit back and think of the hell these brave people went through over the many years, it is mind blowing.
