I have tried making my friend understand why Islam is a good religion and why it means so much to me but it doesn't seem to make much difference. I have tried to explain my principles but to no avail. My friend is Athiest but the morals he holds are so much like the ones i believe in. Any advice?

You dont have to convert anyone to Islam.Your task is only to tell the truth and convey the message of Allah to mankind whethr they follow or not is their will. They will have to face the consequences of their decision before Allah on the day of judgement.Yes your task is to deliver the message in a beautiful, truthful, and honest manner and do not try to force it onto anyone above all practice what you preach a good action speaks louder than a thousand words. This is how Islam spread in the past and this is why it is the fastest spreading religion in the world even today. It is the most beautiful message and the truth from Allah, dont let anyone distort history and tell you lies, people who say Islam spread by the sword should read up history and they would see the truth.Dont let bad followers distort the true ideology its for your own good.Pray for the guidance and betterment of mankind and be agood follower of true Islam benefit mankind and do good to all.Save a life is as if you saved the entire mankind.Study Islam thoroughly and then preach it in a beautiful manner.

With all the troubles in the world happening where the news had spread so much about Muslims having the hands to make it happen, how can you convince one. Maybe if you keep silent and try to do something to be part of peace keeping people, maybe you will have the favor you wanted. At this time no Atheist would like to join or be converted to any kind of religion not just yours.

From what I saw it seems the best and most effective way is to point an AK-47 at their melon and tell them that they can convert or be killed,it worked for those reporters a couple of months ago. Hell they're still afraid to talk about it in much detail, seems it was very effective. Other than that I don't know, you were aiming for a peaceful way I guess,I haven't seen a peaceful way that also involved honesty so I guess I can't help.

As a Muslim you should know that converting people is not part of our religion. Your friend is free to believe or not believe what he likes. Because he has similar morals is no need for you to try to convert him. Just be his friend and if and when he asks you questions that's the time to talk to him, with it coming from him. I can see you just want the best for your friend but it is God who chooses who he wants and does not want to follow the true path. I believe you should not be trying to convert him, the best think you can do is be a good friend regardless of his beliefs.

Islam does not say that Muslims should try to convert someone else. Islam says that Muslims should preach Islam and that's it. Only Allah can change someone's heart.

The Prophet himself was not able to convert his uncle Abu Talib, he can only preach Abu Talib about Islam and its message. The rest is up to God.

A religion is more then a set of moral beliefs. Your friend may understand that Islam is a good religion in the sense of matching his morality, but that does _not_ confer faith that there is a heaven, and a God/Allah, etc.

Be the best that you can be as a human. Be the example , the truth then those that choose shall follow. When we force anyone we take away the choice of free will.Detatch from the outcome then The Truth can be free to go where it needs to.

You cannot convert anyone to anything. That is God's business. You can be a willing vessel for Him to operate out of and help in the process by being willing to plant, water, or harvest, but it is really all HIM. The name of your religion is not important to God. He is TRUTH and must be worshipped in Spirit and TRUTH. Let God do the converting to Himself and call it what He wants. What ever dicipline you need you will get as GOD see it necessary. Remember that religion is mans creation. Really they are trying to
worship God and they have followed anothers way. God is a personal God and He will lead if you let him. Truth is truth and will stand on its own.He does not need a title, or a system, only truth.

First of all, you sound like you are concerned for your friend and you want him to find the right path, in terms of religion. I'd say the best thing for you to do is to pray to Allah for him. If Allah wills, it will happen. If not, then maybe it just wasn't meant to be. I've learned that pushing religion to somone might make them reluctant to join the religion, and it will just push them further. Good luck. Salam.
