Yes there are the same. If the recipe says ordinary flour and you are using wholemeal then you may need to add more liquid. Dont expect wholemeal muffins to be as light as ordinary flour muffins. Better for you though!

whole meal flour uses the grain and whole wheat uses the germ, the whole wheat is alot heavier, but great for adding to cereals - good for your heart!!. If you're using them in a recipe, try combining the two. - I don't really know, but it sounds right....
