It really does not make sense to have a black church or a white church, catholics, LDS, etc. It's humans and ideas that got in the way. What we must remember is regardless the faith or the church if they teach about Jesus, Salvation and the Bible and know that we all serve One God: Father, Son and Holy Ghost the rest is just stuff. It's about knowing Jesus personally as LORD, Savior, KING and friend, following His commandments and teachings from the Bible not any other book just the Bible and about leading others to him by example then we've got it made. The rest is just religious stuff. If we had more churches like that I'd see at least one or more persons of every race on earth in my church. So far so good. Whites, Blacks, Asians, Latinos, etc. are all either attending or have attended my church. Hmm maybe we're actually doing some thing right here. I'm not bragging on us people but on God. It's all about Him. When you get human ideas and wants out of the way and do what God wants it all works out. Segregation SUCKS. Tear down the walls of segregation. Integration RULES.

Because so much of religion is based on bias that they even end up biased against each other, and since it's all fantasy anyway they can add whatever they want and end up with followers thus further separating themselves.
Catholic
Greek Orthodox
Mormons
Jehovahs Witnesses
Lutherans
Protestants
Seventh Day Adventists
And on and on,including all the subsets within even the above mentioned, like the missouri synod segment of lutherans who are almost fanatical in their beliefs surrounded by most other lutherans who are actually pretty moderate, amazing it's just splinter group after splinter group,I can't believe they manage to agree on anything.

Different denominations within the Christian faith have separated themselves sometimes over the most minute phrase or different interpretation of a scripture in the Bible. As a Christian I personally don't understand it. I think it's a way that Satan has wedged himself in there to try to cause division in the ranks. What churches need to do is stop and realize that we are called to spread the word and to win souls to Christ. By focusing so much of the interpretation of a verse, or "splitting hairs" if you will it takes the focus off of our real purpose and real mission. I don't know how to solve the dilemma. All I can do is live the best life I can and be the best representative for Christ that I can. I don't try to win people to my church. I try to win them to Christ.

Denominations cause division. I'm sure it grieves Jesus to watch His church be sectioned, and sometimes sanctioned by each other.

But, each denomination fills a purpose in the functionality of the Body of Christ. Are all an eye? Then where is the hearing? Hand? Foot? The arm of the Lord is not slack concerning these things.

It makes no sense at all. You are right about that. I don't agree that if all Christians united that this would be a better place. If religion was abandoned and replaced with Humanism, logic, reason and kindness then this would be a better planet.

Human nature. The branches of CHristianity broke off because of human error. Someone didn't like how things were run and broke off to create their own church. There is no way everyone would agree with one teaching.

Christianity as a whole believes in the universal truths..Jesus died for our sins. He rose again. If we believe in Him we will have eternal life. There are differences in things that aren't really important however.

Let me put it this way, if you write your name in cursive, print, or block, you are still writing your name. Just because the style of writing is different, doesn't make your letters in a different language.

For the same reason we "cut" others with our words. To keep everyone at a
distance, for fear of being hurt.
