Looks as if he is having circulatory problems. Elevated heart rate indicates that there is insufficient oxygen in the blood and the heart is try is trying to compensate by working harder. The lips turning blue and chest pain are additional symptom for this condition. The paramedics usually are well trained but they are human beings and looks as if they should have recommended your sister or brother to take the child immediately to a cardiologist. This condition should not be taken lightly. I hope the best things for yur nephew.

Your friend is having denial that is why she keeps insisting that she is not sick or some thing. If it happens again, help her to sit down, or she can use 2-3 pillows while she lie in the bed or sofa, or while she sleep just make sure you support her back bones (spinal ) to prevent injury. This procedure will only help her to maximize the lung expansion to help her breath. It cannot remove chest pain. BUT! It would be best if you bring her to an a Emergancy Room or check her Doctor. Your better come with her, she may have a hard time telling it to her parents, so as a friend encourage her and you go with her to the doctor.

I would take him to see his doctor.....

Hydrocephalus is a condition in which abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain causes increased intracranial pressure inside the skull. This is usually due to blockage of CSF outflow in the brain ventricles or in the subarachnoid space at the base of the brain. The elevated intracranial pressure may cause compression of the brain, leading to brain damage and other complications. There is no cure. The term "hydrocephalus" is derived from the Greek language and means "water-head".

I would hope that his mother has taken him straight to the doctor by the time you've written this question! They should be able to find a reason for this.
