Eat more slowly.
Chew your food thoroughly.
Avoid gum chewing.
Relax while you eat.
Avoid beans, cabbage, and carbonated beverages.
Try Beano, a product sold over-the-counter at most drugstores, if you eat a lot of beans, fruits, vegetables, and other high-fiber foods.
Walk for 10 to 15 minutes after eating.
Drink peppermint or chamomile tea after a meal.
In the case of those with lactose intolerance, intestinal bacteria feeding on lactose can give rise to excessive gas production when milk or lactose-containing substances have been consumed.

Some vegetables, all beans or legumes can cause gas (if you soak them a few hours it gets rid of most of the gas).
Excessive intake of food, and slow moving bowels will lock gas into the intestinal tract.
Eat fruits and drink prune juice occasionally, this keeps your system moving, moving, moving.
Fiber is what really works. Citrusel each morning in juice works very nicely.

For millions of people being lactose in tolerate dairy products can cause gas. Also, some vegetables can cause (ex. broccoli)
