I purchased a puppy for my kids a couple of months ago and was disappointed to find out that the breeder was only in this business to make $$$ regardless of who she damaged in the process. We have been very disappointed and would recommend other to steer clear of www.copesberners.com if you want to deal with a reputable dog breeder.

Sorry to hear you had to deal with a backyard breeder. Thanx for the heads up, tho.

I would suggest you take up whatever problem you have with her personally, and if that doesn't work, complain to the registry she uses & the state's attorney generals office. Publicly slandering her on here is not going to encourage her to want to help you in any way, and may get you taken to court.

From what I see, she OFA certifies & does other genetic testing appropriate for the breed, and shows & titles her dogs. These are not the signs of someone in it 'only for the money' - showing & certifying indicates she cares about the breed's welfare, and cost way more money than these people ever make back in selling their pet quality pups.

If you are unhappy with the breeder, the best place to complain is to the AKC. Lodge a formal complaint with them, they can take disciplinary action against them is it's warranted.

You haven't provided many details of what happened, why were you disappointed?

No, I haven't been ripped off my CopesBerners, and I don't really know much about Bernes Mountain Dogs, but I did check out her website. Looks like most of her dogs are titled and/or health tested. (I know Champions aren't a guarantee against health issues)

Is there something wrong with the pup and she isn't upholding her end of the contract? What is it you are disappointed about?

How did they rip you off exactly? If you feel that way, you should report them to the Bernese Club of America (not sure if this is the name, report them to the breed's club).

That's awful, but you didn't tell us what happened, maybe you could report them if it is serious.
