I have a really close guy friend who often jokes about us being "together" and I'm not sure what to make of this. We get along really great but he also hangs out a lot with other girls - and it feels as though he'd choose to be around them before he'd choose to be with me. It's really confusing because somedays he'll barely talk to me and others we'll have a really great time hanging out after work and stuff - where the joking about "us" usually comes up in some way.....does he want to be more than friends or not?

If he is only making comments about the two of you being together when you are alone, I don't think he is very serious about creating a different relationship. If he says these things in front of others, then he probably wants to pursue a romance with you.

He does want to be more than friends and he's testing the water to see what your reaction or response will be. He hangs out with the other girls because some guys just prefer the friendship of women. You have to admit, women are just more civilized.

He does not want to be more than friends. As it was noticed that He was often having time to others than you. Of course, if you are being love to him He rather stay with you all day long and seldome having time to others.
