Yes. and it is not a good idea, because the body craves for the 1600-2000 calories you need a day.
And if you are eating 2000 calories a day and you are overweight you will still lose weight. So dont harm your body just to fulfill a sick beauty ideal given by the media.

You will certainly loose weight with 780 calories a day. But you have to think what kind of life style you have. If you are a very active person you are not eating enough and sooner or later your body will tell you that (and it will be in the worst way). However if your life style is slow, you're not physically active and you're not studying than this amount of energy (even though not enough) will not be as damaging as in the example before.
Why don't you try to listen to your body. Eat when you're hungry, enjoy each mouthful, eat very slowly and stop when you're full. If you start doing this you will realise that your body doesn't need to eat as much as most people think.
Since I started doing this, I only eat half a sandwich and I am already full. Drink a lot of water and do some exercise, if you don't like heavy exercise, go for a walk for 15 or 20 minutes, do some abs, etc. This is the best way to loose weight.

Oh, you'll loose weight. You'll loose fat mass (assuming you have any), muscle mass, bone mass, basically anything and everything. You body needs more than 780 calories a day just to maintain basic functions. Furthermore, if you only eat 780 calories a day for a prolonged period of time, you will cause permanent damage to your body.
Cutting out 780 calories from a regular diet is a much more effective and healthy way to loose undesirable weight. It is better still to reduce your calorie intake while increasing your exercise. Dieting alone generally results in a lose of both fat and muscle, while increasing you activity level, even a little, will shift the majority of weight loss to fatty tissue.

Daily requirement for a woman is 2000 a day so I would not cut it down as low as this.
Speak to a doctor or someone how actually knows what they are on about - I think they generally advise you just to cut down to about 1500 a day (depending on your individual metabolism). It might take you longer to lose the weight but it will be safer and healthier plus it will be more likely to stay off. Crash dieting isn't just dangerous but you usually put it all on again straight away as your body has gone into starvation mode and will start storing every calorie it gets like crazy.

that is very unhealthy, you body needs about 1000 to 1200 calories per day, on 780 your body will go into starvation mode it will hold everything you take in and store it as fat, you body will burn the muscle it has to give you energy and what u don't us will turn to fat and store for later use. you will become more fluffy and feel like crap. don't do it find you someone to work out a plan for you, how many calories you need and good things to eat, I'm a wellness coach and would be happy to help just email me duggies341@yahoo.com

Probably not. At 780 calories you will lose weight immediately but your body will go into starvation mode putting extreme strain on your organs and possibly threatening your life. As soon as you increase your calorific intake, you will gain all of the initial weight. Your body's metabolism adjusts very quickly to your calorifc intake so it will stop losing weight after the first week or so.
Best to stick to around 1,500 and increase your exercise regime. Slow weight loss = sustained weight loss.

Yes you certainly can but you'd be depriving your body of essential nutrients and energy. You'll develop muscle wastage, skin problems, gynealogical problems and will very likely be very hungry and miserable. It depends on your gender, age, current weight and lifestyle how many calories you need to take in for sensible weight loss. You will then decrease your need as you lose more and more weight. The recommendation for a woman who needs to lose 1-3 stone is around 1500 calories (2000 is the amount an average sized woman should take in to maintain a healthy weight.) Combine healthy eating (covering all the important food groups) with moderate exercise and you'll lose weight gradually and safely. Stop looking for drastic results. People who lose it very quickly are much more likely to put it back on quickly once they up their intake of calories again. Either that or they develop eating disorders with horrific physical, psychological and social consequences! PLEASE BE SENSIBLE!!

The short answer to this is yes...........for a short period of time. After that your body will detect a lack of nourishment and effectively slow down your metabolism leaving your fat reserves untouched. The likelihood is that during this process you will put weight back on and damage your vital organs.
My advice would be to eat healthily starting with a minimum of 1500 calories, lots of fruit and veg, some pasta (lunchtimes only) and something light in the evening. Only eat between the hours of 7am-9am, 11am-1pm and 6pm-8pm (this is when your body is most effective at breaking down and digesting food).
Drink lots of water and lastly but by no means least.........regular exercise is key!!
Good luck.

You should eat 2,000
so i think you will. BUT. you will be under nourished and prone to illnesses. You will be tire, lack a sex drive and most likely get depressed in some way or another. AND when you get to you i deal weight, if you eat anything more it will be put on straight away because your body has been starved and will slow down its own metabolism.
Eat at least 1,500 calls a day and exercise, in the morning, before you've had anything to eat. Then you might loose some weight.

I have to agree, 1000 calories would be a good baseline to work with. Losing weight in general is not only limited to monitoring your calories. It goes hand in hand with exercise. Most of all, you need to have fun in this endeavor. Best wishes on reaching your goal.
