This seems a more likely explanation of the angel rape attempt. besides homosexuals are not known to have any predeliction for angels or for rape. And angels being another species entirely it is not even attempted same-species rape let alone homosexual rape. And then too why on Earth would Lot offer his two daughters to the mob of men in the angels place if he thought the men were homosexuals...it doesn't makes a lot sense (no pun intended).

Personally I don't see how it should effect the views of homosexuals today. I know for a fact that, regardless of whether they were angels or not, no sane gay guy (or girl for tha matter) would attempt to kick down someone's door yelling "Bring out your men so that we can have sex with them!" It's immoral outside of sexuality.
Oh and the people that said sodomy = homosexuality - urm no, sodomy is anal sex. You can have anal sex without being gay and the receiving party doesn't have to be a guy.

The Sodomites were homosexuals . They viewed the angels as men. They looked like men. So they were forcing Lot to bring them out of the house to rape them.
In Lots day there was a strict code of hospitality. He would never have left anyone mollest his visitors. He was so hospitable to the point of saying let these men alone and I will offer my daughters to you.
The angels, to protect Lot and his family, struck all these men and boys with blindness.
But the more important fact that modern day people have to know is the warning given back then for our day...that it will be now like it was back then....homosexuals and lawless men will go from bad to worse..... when the destruction does occur, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around that were destroyed , itwill be a worse punishment than back then if that is possible.

If an angel entered a modern day state penitentiary disguised as a felon and most of the inmates immediately came at him with the intention of violent gang rape, would you really look at the story as a warning against being gay? If one inmate attempted to protect the angel, even if risking harm to himself, wouldn’t you see this as a story about hospitality and honor?
It always astonishes me that people want to make this story about being gay. This is a story about people who were so obsessed with lust and valence to the degree that they wanted to gang rape anything that moved.
Does anybody seriously think that God would have been any less offended if they were trying to gang rape women angels?

Lot offered his daughters to protect the guests in his house.
The people of Sodom weren't homophobes, they were rampant homosexuals and didn't know that the angels were angels. They just wanted fresh meat.

First off, rednecks are in United States , if you are reffering to the Bible story , look no further it is now happening again , gay marriage, adoptions of boys by male homosexuals, come on , the truth is that homosexual lifestyle is perverted! Now all you have to do is LOOK at their parades! Children do not belong in there! The Sodom and Gomorrah were so perverted by homosexualism that no MAN was safe! They had to be destroyed. the same will happen again. The male and females bodies complement each other , there is no complement in male sex, as the anus is a waste disposal organ. The stories in the Bible are coded , not for all to understand , there is more to this story that we arev aware of.

Well my take on this, is that first of all the angels were not known to all as angels. They came in the form of man and so they were seen as men. The city was due for distruction and the angles came to tell Lot and his family to leave. God gave Lot a chance to find at least one good person in the city so as not to destroy it and he could not find any.
Lot knowing that the men were angles offered them his daughters so they could leave the angles alone. They were not interested. Hence the angels hurting them. It was a poor substitute on Lot's part but an attempt anyway.

it seems that you have read the story but have not fully understood it.
Sodom has given it`s name to the practice of homosexuality(sodomy) the use of the rectum for sexual gratification, which seemed to be prevalent of that time and place.
this is a human practice and not of the Holy Angels who are not enslaved to inferior passions.
these people of Sodom had tried every conceiveable sexual passion from male- female to same sex and even child sex, so God had to step in as it might well have had very serious consequences for other towns as well.
Lot knew that these strangers were from God and as such was horrified that they too could as you suggest be molested and he was terrified of the resulting anger of God, and this is why he offered his daughters in their place.
however the fact that he failed to see that God wanted no more of these goings on was his mistake, and one crime cannot fix another.

The men of Sodom were very evil and depraved given to lust of the flesh. All they knew was that these holy men of God were someone that they didn't know and wanted relations with them. Lot was afraid for these men and would have given his daughters up to their lusts to protect these angels.

First, you have to keep in mind, the angel took the form of men. They had physical bodies.
Lot high regard for the angels, knowing what they would do, and his need to see the city stay caused him to forego his daughters.
Like you---I would not have made such an offer.
