Drown your cold with orange juice...vitamin C is good but people don't know how much to take....you have to take 1000 mg each hour until you get diarreha for the pills to help. But the juice keeps you hydrated and it helps your throat. Also..Lemon Juice....put a tablespoon in your mouth and hold it...sore throat germs cannot live in lemon juice.
Rest as much as you can...your lungs and sinuses cannot heal if you are taxing other parts of your body.

I was once told by a doctor that the best thing for helping to cure a cold is to drink fresh orange juice (or anything with vitamin c) as the levels of vitamin c drop during a cold and topping up these levels can help to shift a cold fairly quickly.

ORANGES! you need the vitiman C---i have these bloody long lasting colds... take beechhames as it reduces the symptoms which makes it much more bearable, also have oranges, orange drinks, lucozade and lots of oranges!! vitamin C helps to get rid of the cold quicker and make sure you drink lots of water too to help push it out of your system. wrap up warm as the more you sweat the more the bad stuff comes out...

I swear by hot toddy.

Put fresh orange juice in a cup and heat it in the microwave, add a spoon of honey and good measure of brandy, put some warm bed clothes on and go to bed. You should sweat it out by the morning.

It that doesnt work it might be catarh caused by the central heating.

I also have found that echinacea tea is wonderful for shortening the duration of all colds I've had. You might want to try Zicam, as well. Some people I know swear by it!

This happened to me before. It was horrible. It went from a snuffly nose to a loud woofing cough. I loaded up on the vitamin c and the nyquil to sleep at night. I think it helped.
