Both men and women do possess those abovementioned characteristics to a certain extent.
However, if you allow yourself to be held hostage by these traits, then you don't only end up hurting yourself and the person you love but you also end up sabotaging the relationship.
To me, it would be totally unacceptable if the man I am with would exceed beyond the norm such as not allowing me to see other people (it doesn't matter whether male or female), and would want me to be at his beck and call whenever he wants to.
But then again, I wouldn't be with a man like that anyway, that I am sure of. :)

Sometimes I enjoy it when my other half gets jealous and protective because this shows that he cares... But I cant stand a guy bein possessive because I'm not the type of girl who can bear not having their freedom. If a guy gets jealous or protective too easily it does gets on my nerves too =D

Jealous and possessive, maybe just a little. Protective, NO. I don't need protection from a guy — I know karate, for sobbing out loud. I don't want anyone to fight my battles for me.

Jealousy is a hard thing to rate. what is it about? This usually is an act of insecurity, unless there is a liable reason to be jealous.
ex. kissing someone else, a good reason
Ex. a hug or hanging out with someone, a bad reason.
My bf has this problem. I don't really hang out with my guy friends as much, unless my bf is there, my bf is insecure. I know this and so does he, so we can work with it. I do my best not to hurt him, I guess that's one good thing about knowing his past.

I don't mind a man being a little jealous or a little possesive, but as long as he doesn't take it too far. For example, if we're out to dinner & another man comes over to talk to me (while he's away) & he starts fighting w/ that man as soon as he returns, then that is way too much!!!

personally, i do not like jealous and possessive guys. they are like stopping me from having my freedom. but protective guys are okay. as long as they do not overdo it. as long as they have trust in me. it's okay to be a bit jealous and possessive as long as guys do not overdo it that their jealousy will seem to choke the girl. i mean, give the girl enough space to breathe and be on her own.

It can be a good thing cos it shows u that he cares, n is a guy that'll take care n look out for u but at the same time we need our own space sometimes n we're not always in need of protection, so it can be a bit uncalled for, that's wut i think anyway

if he's one or two, I see problems with those...as those two could potentially lead to issues in the relationship. The protective type I don't see the issue with it.

I'm ok with it only beacuse I myself am very jealous and possessive, so it would be unfair not to let him be.
