It may take years for you to "get it right." but even just 30 minutes of meditation a day will help you. Distraction is to be expected. Just let your thoughts gently transition back to focus if they should get distracted. Hope that helps!

There are all forms of meditation. I will give you two types: focus and no mind.
Focus on one person, place, or thing. This type of meditation usually found in western religions. For Christians, the focus is Jesus Christ. You know that you have achieved it when everything else is masked out. For example, if someone came to you in this state, you would not know it.
No mind is the opposite. There is no focus; there is only quietness. This type of meditation is found in eastern religions If something comes in, you let it just go out. Usually you listen to your breathing, but even that goes away.
Meditation is not a number of days, but a way of life. With focus, you can see the result when you are aware nothing else except what you are targeting. The no mind technique is that you experience everything that comes your way but you keep nothing.
Unfortunately, I can only give you what I know from practice. I started with focus and ended with no mind. But from my experience, I know that you must be patience. It is not the technique that matters only the practice. The practice the begins new each day.
I hope you find peace and joy in whatever you practice, it is the act of meditation not the result that will help you on your path.

Hi, if you are talking about Christian meditation then you can expect a greater awareness of God`s presence in your life, like a clearer connection so to speak.
the distractions are normal everyone who tries to meditate gets them,it`s just a matter of ignoring these thoughts and keeping up the discipline, if your meditation is directed at someone or thing other than God then i`ve wasted your time, sorry.

My form of "meditation" is prayer. And like meditation, prayer can be interupted by anything and everything. I learned that prayer does not necessarily come naturally, but requires a bit of practice and focus. I never know if I'm "getting it right", but I find comfort in the fact that at least I'm trying.

The purpose is to calm the mind & spirit, relieve stress. Stress will cause the blood pressure to rise which will in turn raise the body temp. I am surprised that you can sense the slight drop in body temp, but this would indicate that you are benifiting from it. If this is uncomfortable for you, I would suggest some deep breathing/yoga exercise leading into your meditation ritual.
The souls intension, is learning to fly!

Part of becoming good at meditation is to be able to have control over our distracting thoughts. This will come with time.

You feel cooler because your body slows down during true meditation. You heart rate decreases and the metabolism slows. When the heart slow blood doesn't reach the outer parts of you body this cause the sensation of being cooler.

"Be STILL, and know that I am GOD!"
To help still your mind, concentrate on your breathing. Slowly IN, and OUT.
Natives call it Stopping the World. Hold a breath now and then, and calm
yourself. These are when we get the moments of insight.
Our spirit has telepathic and empathic ability. And there are negative entities.
Whenever you do spiritual work, call on our Highest Power for guidance and
protection.
