I read that even though regular drinking has health benefits, drinking too much can result in more disadvantages than benefits. So what would be the limit to have most benefit? I have about a quarter bottle (180 ml) of whisky when i drink. the alcohol content is 42% i believe, and 75 proof (i have no clue what this means).

I know it depends on person to person and weight and size. But what would be the general figure?

Describes heavy drinking:
What do you mean by heavy drinking?

For men, heavy drinking is typically defined as consuming an average of more than 2 drinks per day. For women, heavy drinking is typically defined as consuming an average of more than 1 drink per day.

What does it mean to be above the legal limit* for drinking?

The legal limit for drinking is the alcohol level above which an individual is subject to legal penalties (e.g., arrest or loss of a driver's license).

Legal limits are measured using either a blood alcohol test or a breathalyzer.
Legal limits are typically defined by state law, and may vary based on individual characteristics such as age and occupation.
All states in the United States have adopted 0.08% (80 mg/dL) as the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle for drivers aged 21 years or older. However, drivers under age 21 years are not allowed to operate a motor vehicle with any level of alcohol in their system.

*Legal limits do not define a level below which it is safe to operate a vehicle or engage in some other activity. Impairment due to alcohol use begins to occur at levels well below the legal limit.

What health problems are associated with excessive alcohol use?

Excessive drinking both in the form of heavy drinking or binge drinking, is associated with numerous health problems, including but not limited to

Unintentional injuries such as motor-vehicle traffic crashes, falls, drowning, burns and firearm injuries.

The % alcohol is half the proof. So 43% is 86 proof. 40%, 43% and 50% are common bottling proofs for spirits. About 1-2 drinks a day is considered moderate drinking. A drink is about 45mL. So 180mL every day would be a bit much. 180 mL say twice a week would still be considered moderate drinking.

You are right...weight and size is a factor...but so is time and exercise.

I have drank a fifth of hisky and not felt a thing...over a week.
Extreme, but the point is valid.

I can drink a 12 pack of beer over a day and still be "sober". One per hour for my weight is easy, especially on a hot day when I am running around.

I usually time myself at parties to a drink an hour and I believe I am OK...Others need less or more.

First off it its 42% alcohol content then it would be 84 proof. And I dont think that the FDA would consider getting yourself plastered as a healthy regular drinking habit. but one beer a night or a glass of wine wouldnt be bad

Rashid, what the hell is the factor for your lifestyles? Either manner, Energy beverages traditionally include a tonne of sugar, primarily the inexpensive no company vigor beverages. I feel one million an afternoon is usually tolerable, however even then you are ingesting plenty of sugar, in far more than what you must be. If you recreation customarily this should not be a challenge, if you do not, simply scale back a bit, all of it is helping.
