I don't use YM, only MSN Messenger. Yesterday I wanted to test all of my security programs in my pc. Downloaded YM, as I have had YM before but removed it as I don't consider YM safe and it causes alot of problems.

One of my security programs is free, "zero day attacks". A program that evaluates any download to see if it has behavior that is not common or, try to change the security in your system, or tries to download hidden data in the background without your knowledge.

http://www.cyberhawk.com Is a free excellent program that will protect your from "zero day attacks". Attacks that hit before any security company has knowledge of the virus.

This program stopped the installation of YM, says that it is trying to change your security settings in your system.

Plus I use Windows XP Pro. An I never had to reboot YM to finish the installation.

Remove the YM, and reinstall an if it tell you to restart, then restart. Sometimes this program does not install correct. Still don't understand why you must restart your sytem to complete the installation.

Once you re-boot, you need to connect to the Net to complete the installation... I think.
If nothing happen, double click the icon on your Desktop for Yahoo Messenger.
Usually, anything to do with Yahoo is automatic. You only have to sign in with Yahoo.
However, you need to be a Yahoo member in order for messenger to work.
