The best thing to do is to pack it in small groups and freez it. Taht way it last real long. It unfreeze in the pan.

That depends on the temperature in the frig. If it is quite cold then a week or more. It depends on the cure too, the amount of salt used. I keep mine in a spot below the freezer coils and it lasts about a month. When I go hiking I salt it good and put portions in vacuum sealed pags. Then if I want beans I just take that portion for them, or remove the salt with water for bacon and eggs.

the moment you open it count 4 days and it becomes like a rubbery thing and taste funny after frying

they say 3days but i wouldnt eat it more then a day after
