Hi
It could be so many things depending on whether it's painful, itchy, time of onset, existing medical illnesses and current medication.
One cannot answer this question without proper history. If it is pain or has been there for a long time it is the safest to see your GP. It might turn out to be self-limiting and resolve on its own.

keep it quiet- everyone will want them !
Seriously thouugh- burnt? or feels burnt?
Are you on medication, or do you have an upper respiratory infection- dental problems?
gargling with salt water or water and baking soda would be a good first aid approach before you see a doctor

That sounds like some form of toxic poisoning. it can be a number of things - could be an infected tooth; could be a reaction to a prescription drug (especially penicillan); or it could be a sign of something worse (not likely as you would have other symptoms). Your doctor should test for yeast infections first and you should ask the dentist to take a look.

it could in fact be a slight burn or from acidic food or it could be from a lack of iron or a deficiency of Vitamin B12. Is it sore? If it doesn't clear up soon, you need to go to the doctor with it.Good luck.

are they prominent white spots....if yes then you probably have burnt your tongue.....spots like this are the taste buds reacting to the strong heat. Sometimes you also get them if you're feeling run down as well.
