It is not advisable to do this.

Yes, it is ok! I remember my puppy got a bee bite or something and was allergic to it so we went to the vet . They just gave her a shot which ended up being Benedryll. My vet recommends it but only little amounts like 1/3 of a spoon.

You should consult with a vet before giving your puppy any type of human medication. If your pup is sick you need to take it to the vet- always.

If you know that it is a cold, just call your vet and ask for a recommended dose of an over the counter drug.

It is according to the age of the pet.If over 8 wks. old you can go to the site below. There is many home medications you can give your pet, just be sure it is the correct dose,it goes by weight of pup. Also this may help.Put your pet in a kennel cab in a small room in your house.Get a baby bottle warmer ,fill with water and pour in a small amount of a medicated steaming solution, let your pup breath overnight for several nights, this will break up ANY CONJESTION THE PUP MAY HAVE AND HELP IT BREATH BETTER.iF YOU DON'T HAVE A BOTTLE WARMER,YOU CAN USE A POPERII POT WITH WATER IN IT AND A CANDLE UNDERNEATH.The site where the home meds are is http://www.filarescue.org/medicines.shtml ,some people on here may steer you away from this site, but all medications listed there is very helpful for your pet, just be sure to give as directed.

No. Absolutely not.

Even a half teaspoon of adult cold meds has more than enough stimulants and other drugs to kill a puppy.

Go to the vet. Find out what is making the dog sick instead of trying to reduce the symptoms.

ummm...HELLO!!!!!!! this is a puppy we r talking about not a human! DO NOT GIVE THE PUPPY COLD MEDICINE WITHOUT CONSULTING A VET!!!! Its just like giving him table scraps. My friend's dog DIED because of an inverted stomach!(his stomach was turned inside out!) All because of one little mistake! So dont take the chance!

No, its not OK. Some vets will recommend Benadryl for seasonal allergies, however, you shouldn't medicate your dog without first talking to your vet.

I wouldn't do that without contacting your vet first. Although when my dog was a puppy he ate an entire full prescription bottle of Claritin. It made him very dry but other than that he was fine. Dogs metabolize medications alot differently than humans.

could make him very sick...then again it might not harm him...do you want to take that chance?? a lot of people things can hurt animals internally 'cause we don't process things the same way (hence we don't even eat the same things)....take him to the vet to be sure, ask the vet about giving human meds, to make sure they are safe....there are some things we can give animals and it could save you money but better to be safe than make him sicker right?

NO WAY!!! You need to talk to a vet. They will know what is best for your puppy. You could kill the puppy, in which would bring great heartache. Please please don't do it. Their systems are not like ours, and are so sensitive. Call the vet asap.
Good luck, hope puppy gets better.

No, seek the advise of your vet. You don't have to go there. Just pick up the phone
