What does ascension really mean to mankind and to us personaly? Is it really happening now and how will it affect us?

Jesus, as reported by Josephus, a non-believing, very reputable historian did die and did resurrect from the dead. He was witnessed by over 300 people and people who prior to his death, were running from fear, no longer ran but met their own martyr death after seeing Him.

Ascension is not happening now. It is a prediction for some unknown time in the future (which is not today).
Various people will tell you their belief, and promise you all kinds of things that will happen and how it might affect you. However, as much as they seriously believe those
predictions, they do not know this for a fact, nor can they tell you a specific date when it will occur. I do not speak out against them, or their beliefs, I only offer you the words "that those thoughts are their beliefs."

no, it means to the saved=eternal life, it will only happen after Christ's 2nd. coming

It's just another part of the religious myth. When Jesus died, he just died, if he existed at all. There was no real ressurection. That was a common story attributed to many people in that time.
Remember, the stuff written about Jesus was written decades after he died, if he existed.
