What is the spasticity due to? If it is due to cerebral palsy, it is a static condition. It can improve with physiotherapy. Otherwise, it can lead to contractures, which need to be treated surgically/ Spasticity also occurs due to meningitits or encephalitis. It improves with time and physiotherapy. Familial spastic paraplegia worsens with time.
A spastic person may be mentally normal.
