I am enquiring for a Charity called Second Chance Childrens Charity. This charity picks up the pices for British children who have been abused mentally, phsyically and sexually. Also the most underpriviledge children in the community. They support children with heart tumour, brain shunts and children with learning difficulties, also those with terminal illnesses. They are looking for a marquee to use in december to hold a big christmas party for the children in Erith Kent. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to help.

Hi everyone,
I would like to comment on what Missus 2001 wrote. I think the comment about that hiring a marquee in the winter is another abuse to children is absolutely disgusting. There will be a party held in a marquee by Great Ormond Street Hospital - the best children's hospital in the UK. This Christmas party held in December will bring smiles and laughter to lots of terminally ill children lives. Do you think those children care that it's in a marquee? I don't think so!!!

I really hope you meant it as a joke but then it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. It only shows what kind of person you might be!

In regards to the marquee. I am sorry that I can't help you at the moment but I will keep my eyes open for you.
My daughter Jessica was invited to this Christmas party in Erith and she is looking forward to it. And she really doesn't care that it will be in a marquee.
Jessica was diagnosed with cancer called ganglioneuroblastoma in December 2005 and is doing fine at the moment.
I would like to say thank you to the Second chance chidren's charity for inviting Jessie to their superb Halloween party and Christmas party.
Guys you are doing a great job and we love you!
Love Jessie, Stana and Caroline Magnus (Jessie's grandma)

1. Just input "marquee hire south east london" into your preferred search engine (I recommend www.dogpile.com, because it searches via google, yahoo, msn and ask all at the same time), and look up the contact (telephone) details of up to twelve businesses.

2. Now you've got to get on the dog and bone and start blagging to the max. Push the "charidee" bit all the way. You have to realise that this involves a major commitment by the firm, if they do it for free. Think about it - loading the vehicle, driving to the location with employees, erecting the marquee, and then doing it all in reverse at the end. That's company money down the drain (loss of income, fuel expense, wages costs) unless it brings major publicity benefits. One thing that is in your favour is that December is low season, so the firms are probably not doing anything else with their marquees, and it may be a good self-promotion opportunity for them ahead of the 2007 season.

3. A marquee in winter? Sounds like more abuse for the poor children - still that's up to you.

No. Sorry. None actually advertise an availabiltiy. But I'm sure if you called the companies that hire marquees out and told them it was for charity and could prove it, you would have to get 1 or 2 that would agree. They would likely want some kind of advertising for themselves at the event itself though.

I would try asking local stately homes as they often have marquees for summer functions. If the owner of the estate is kind they will let you borrow it for free. I don't know any specific person but I bet there is someone.
Perhaps you could start a comity to phone around and ask all the local stately homes and large businesses if they can help.
