I found this great sweet shop in the middle of Greenwich Market in Greenwich, London, they had all the sweets I could remember and loads that my mum could remember from her childhood too. I bought some chocolate tools and they taste horrible now! Maybe as a child I couldn't tell the difference between cheap chocolate and nice chocolate but now I can so they definitely tasted different to how I remember.

The sweets I have been looking for from my child hood is sweet tobacco, it use to come in a pouch like pipe tobacco, but I have tried lots of old sweet shops which specialise in old sweets and nobody has heard off it!
I am sure it used to be chocolate and coconut.
If anybody knows where I can get it from I would be really happy.
As for child hood sweets, you still can not beat flying saucers.

My local shop sells loads of sweets from my childhood, so I bougt some the other day. Palma violets still taste like perfume, candy cigarettes are yummy but I had one box of hard ones and one box of chewy ones (not sure whats going on there) I also had a dib dab which was not as nice as I remember.

Hi!
I found some Refresher chews the other day.
They are tiny!!!
The Refreshers I remember were so big that when you put one in your mouth it hurt to try and chew it and make it soft. Then when you had finished chewing it, your jaw ached!!
I don't think my mouth is THAT much bigger than when I was a kid, but today's chews aren't a patch on the old ones!!
Thanks for that little trip down Memory Lane!!

I am from the UK, and ages and ages and ages ago, you could get these chocolate bars called "Secret". They were in a gold wrapper with blue writing and the bar came sat in like a little cardboard tray thing.
It was chocolate mousse wrapped in a chocolate. The chocolate wasn't solid but was made out of a piping effect.
They were fab, and I haven't seen em for years. Would seriously consider giving my two big toes to anyone who can get hold of one!

Highland Toffee - very dissapointing I grew up in Scotland and you used to have to hit it with a toffee hammer in the shop, I went back last month and it comes pre-wrapped in bars, Im sure it dosnt taste the same.

I used to love Jamaica chocolate bars when I was a kid. They had a sunset on the front behind an old wooden sailing ship on the sea. They don't make them anymore. Wish I could try one again.
