Often curious, but never really wanted to ask someone in the business. I guess/think that i'd get faulty info.

It depends on your state laws. You need an office and lot to display cars. An accountant and lawyer would help in obtaining the proper licenses and business plan. Sell quality used cars, start small and build your reputation, the you can expand. I am in Ontario where the laws are a bit strict, I am thinking of doing the same.

If I were you, I would begin by shopping around, finding a good used vehicle, reconditioning it, then selling it locally. You are allowed to this up to X times a year as a private individual. (6? here in AZ.) If after several transactions, and you`ve made some decent money, and you realize what a hassle it is buying, reconditioning, advertising, selling, etc. and you still want to do this, then go to the State motor vehicles dept. and get a wholesale license. Then you can find a small lot somewhere and put some cars on it and away you go. At that point you can now drive around to the big local car dealers, and buy their `wholesale/auction` cars direct from them. Every dealer has "auction" cars on their lot, but won`t talk to you until you have a wholesalers license. Easy way to get your inventory, and you`ll get some good deals and also burnt on some. Good luck, sounds like fun!

Hmmm .... Inventory and start up capital, also a license to sell cars in your state. Contact an Accountant to set up your business and file the proper forms.

A business license issued by the state. They will furnish you the rules and regulations re: service, warranties, inusance, etc. A good car auction to purchase what you're going to sell (you will need that license). Have fun!

First, you need to get a really tacky leisure suit.

Then, if you don't already, start smoking.

And last, become the most obnoxious person you can. Learn how to dog people until they are running and screaming at the same time.

Good luck!
