It takes a little bit of time to apply. Save often. Once, when I was applying, I lost my connection on the last screen. I hadn't saved. I had to start over.
After you apply, it takes up to a couple of weeks to get your response.

You need to apply for financial aid now! The advice is for those who will be attending college or university in the fall. The application for the 2006-2007 school year is available. However, the one for the 2007-2008 school year is not available until January 1, 2007.

i thought the fafsa only comes out in january? not sure.
