I have a beautiful golden retriever but he likes to bark at night, I am afraid our neighbors hate us. He is only 6 months old but he is large., and I would like to know what some of you have used that actually worked, there are so many on the market I can't decide. Plus I don't want to throw money away on something that doesn't even work. I need help quickly.

there is a collar on the market that you fill with citronella, every time he barks it emits a little spray, dogs don;t like the smell and they automatically stop barking when this happens. eventually they learn that if they bark they will smell this terrible smell. Worked for my dog.

buying dog products is a quick fix to intimidate and fear the dog into submission. If this is what you call training, this is just the first of other problems. Having a pet is a responsibility. You need to take the time to figure out what is going on and then patiently and with training try to correct this behavior. Throw your money on good training not a collar. Your neighbors will figure out that it is the owner who hasn't taken the time to train their pet. You must have known that golden retrievers are a large breed dog? Is your dog getting plenty of exercise before bed ; is your dog getting good quality time? if not, these could be the reasons for your dog's behavior - he is telling you something but you aren't reading his signals. What if there was an intruder , a collar would take care of him warning you that someone is there that shouldn't be there; barking is a communication mechanism ; don't silent him; teach him the appropriate time to use his voice . Training, Patience and time will correct this. This didn't just happen overnight. Generally when something goes wrong with a pet it is the owner who did or did not do something.

Ya understand each and every physique is so rapid to tug out the call the law enforcement officers card, Why do no longer you bypass with courtesy talk on your neighbor and ask him right to concentration on their dogs. risk is the dogs is holding them up too. maximum dogs bark at night reason they are actually not getting adequate interest or their cooped up all day long. purely talk on your neighbor and bypass from there, in case your neighbor is completly uncaring then you certainly can call the law enforcement officers. yet this could probable purely bring about resentment and anger on the area of the neighbor in direction of you and the subsequent subject you already know you're actually not waking as much as the sounds of a dogs however the sounds of baby's egging and T-Ping your place.

Don't waste money on a commercial product that probably won't work. Get to the source of your dog's barking. Find out why he's yapping all night and train him to be quiet.
A little hard work on your part will cost no money and will yield better results.

The only answer to your problem that actually works is free.
Bring the dog inside.
If you compare your dog to a human child he'd be about 3 yrs.old.Would you leave a 3 yr.old child outside at night?NO.Poor things probably scared out there all by itself not to mention cold.
Put yourself in the dogs place and you'd be throwing a fit too.

Why is the dog barking at night? Are you leaving him alone outside? Of course he's barking then - he hasn't been trained not to, and he's lonely and trying to get your attention. You'll need to crate train him first, so he gets used to sleeping in it, and then gradually move the crate outside. There is no quick fix - if you don't have time to train the dog properly, don't get a dog. Leaving a dog alone outside to bark all night is not acceptable.

If you keep the dog inside and he's still barking all night....same thing goes.

Is your dog outdoors? If so, you may want to let him sleep inside at night. That may help. If he is barking inside, you can buy a bottle of "Yuck mouth" sold in pet stores and when he starts to bark tell him "No" as you spray him with the Yuck mouth, in his mouth. It tastes really bad. It may take some persistence and a few nights without much sleep but it should work.

Dog whistles work for our dog when she's on a massive barking fit!!! She is so hardheaded, but at the same time, so curious that when she hears that whistle she will fall silent with her head ****** sideways and be content lol

I put pennies in an empty soda can and shook it when he barked. They hate that noise, and it's a free remedy!
